Bridging the Gap Between the Catholic Church and Reproductive Health in the Philippine setting
Magdalena: Catholic Guide to Reproductive Health aims to create a way that women from the class D sector can have balanced information about both reproductive health and the reproductive teachings of the Roman Catholic church, so they can make informed decisions about their own reproductive health - specifically when it comes to bearing children and family planning.
Magdalena has two elements - a Facebook Page and Seminar.
The Facebook Page is a public page that would post articles, photos, and information in order to educate and inform women about marrying the Catholic Church’s teachings and health in a reproductive manner.
The seminar for women was held in Kabaka Medical Clinic, Pharmacy, Laboratory and Diagnostic Center where a nurse and doctor conducted the event. Natural Family Planning (NFP) Kits were distributed which contained an NFP manual, a book, an NFP chart, cycle beads, a rosary, and a thermometer.
